Hello.

Welcome to this easier guide to particle physics!

These pages aim to provide (for the non-physicist) a description and explanation of the main aspects of the particle physics "Standard Model" as well as the Higgs field, Higgs boson and the Higgs mechanism - hopefully in an understandable, fairly short and informative way.

To get started, please select one of the pages above. It would probably be easiest to read the pages in order to make the later pages more understandable - but that's not necessary.

The author would be tremendously pleased and encouraged to hear if you find any parts of the site to be interesting or even, hopefully, helpful! The author would, however, also be happy to receive any significant corrections - e.g. regarding highly tricky areas such as the Higgs mechanism or quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Importantly, though, any suggested additions or amendments must be written in such a way as to be easy to understand by readers who have not studied any physics or mathematics at university. There are already many online sources requiring university-level maths or physics.
